Complete Beginner Bundle: the JLPT N5 7-book bundle plus the Beri-Beri Shoshinsha bundle for total beginners
Complete Beginner Digital Bundle
Level N5 CEFR A1 · beginner N5 N4 N3 N2 N1 Just startingNative material Best alongside Genki I From Clay & Yumi, teaching Japanese since 2002. Audio recorded by Yumi and other native speakers. Everything You Need to Go from Zero to JLPT N5 Ready The Super Bundle Over $125 of eBooks and Resources for $49 (USD) Save $79 vs buying everything separately at retail ($128.77), or $18 vs buying the two bundles on their own ($67). The complete beginner path: start at zero, finish ready for the JLPT N5 exam. This Super Bundle pairs our two most popular beginner bundles into one package. Please note: the price is $49 USD, but the system may show the price in your local currency. Try before you buy Read one story free: "Clay is Lost" Flip through story 1 of Yonde Miyo Volume 1 exactly as it appears in the bundle: the story in simple hiragana, every sentence broken down word by word, two grammar notes, a review, the story again in natural Japanese, and the English. Then hear Yumi read it at slow speed first, and at natural speed. ‹ Prev Page 1 / – Next › Loading sample… Trouble viewing? Open the sample PDF in a new tab. Clay is Lost Slow speed Clay is Lost Natural speed The bundle has 50 stories like this one, each with both recordings, plus everything shown in the images above. Beri- Beri- Shoshinsha → (Literally "very very beginner.") The foundation. Walks you from hiragana through basic grammar — and crucially includes our full library of beginner graded readers. Easy stories to actually practice what you learn, instead of drilling sentence patterns into a notebook and hoping they stick. JLPT N5 → Takes those fundamentals and sharpens them. Each book focuses on one slice of the test — grammar, vocabulary, kanji, listening, reading — so you can target weak spots before you sit. And even if you don't plan to take the JLPT, its framework is one of the cleanest ways to measure real progress at the beginner level. (A test on the calendar is a motivator that flashcards just aren't.) About the overlap. The grammar and kanji books in each bundle cover similar ground — about 60% of the grammar topics and 80% of the kanji appear in both. But the books are built for different purposes: the Beri- Beri- versions teach the language as you'll actually use it, organized by what's useful in real life; the JLPT N5 versions teach you for the test, organized by what the exam asks and how. Same underlying material, two different angles — exactly what a serious learner wants if they care about both fluency and certification. What Customers Are Saying 208 reviews across the two component bundles — 99% positive ★★★★★ "The printable practice sheets for Hiragana and Katakana are worth the package purchase price by themselves." James Schmitt · Beri- Beri- Shoshinsha ★★★★★ "A great set of study materials. I really like that it includes Anki flashcards. I've been using this bundle after finishing the Genki textbook." Anna Glaid · Batumi, GE · JLPT N5 Bundle ★★★★★ "Every sentence is broken down and explained in easy steps that helps the reader understand the structure of Japanese." All 23 spines of the Demon Slayer Japanese manga set lined up in order, volumes 1 through 23, Jump Comics editions
Demon Slayer 鬼滅の刃 Complete Set Vol. 1-23 (Japanese Edition, Used)
The complete Demon Slayer (鬼滅の刃) manga, all 23 volumes, in the original Japanese. Not a translation. These are the actual Japanese tankōbon published by Shueisha, the same books read in Japan. ✓ This is the whole story, start to finish. Demon Slayer ended in 2020 at volume 23. It is a finished series, so this set is the entire run: no volume 24 waiting to be tracked down, no cliffhanger, no risk of the story being left unfinished. You buy it once and you are done. Ships to the United States and Canada. USA: shipping is free and included in the price. Please allow up to 8 business days for delivery. Canada: shipping is $75 at checkout for a tracked international parcel. That is close to our actual cost, and if your postage comes in lower we refund you the difference. Please note that Canadian customs may charge GST/HST plus a small handling fee on import. Our apologies to friends further afield. A complete set weighs about nine pounds boxed, and overseas postage on that runs more than the books are worth, so we cannot yet send it beyond North America at a price that would be fair to anyone. Why this set is good for Japanese learners Every kanji has furigana (the small hiragana printed alongside). Demon Slayer ran in Weekly Shonen Jump, which is written for Japanese elementary and middle school readers, so the publisher adds readings to essentially every kanji in the book. If you can read hiragana, you can sound out every single line. That one feature is what makes shonen manga such a practical stepping stone into real Japanese. A look inside our own copy The furigana. Look just above the kanji: 信 is marked しん, 首 is くび, 動 is うご, 今 is いま. Every kanji in the book is labeled this way, so nothing on the page is locked away from you. The artwork. Gotouge's linework is quieter than the anime leads you to expect: fine brush lines in the hair, hand-drawn texture in the woven basket, and a lot of white space. Note the reading marks here too, on 禰豆子 (ねずこ) and 小 (ちい). Reading manga is a fun way to build vocabulary, absorb grammar patterns in context, and get used to how people actually talk, complete with the contractions, sentence-final particles, and dropped subjects that textbooks tend to smooth over. Roughly JLPT N4 to N3 territory once furigana does the heavy lifting on kanji. A few things to expect: the story is set in the Taishō era (1912–1926), so there is some period flavor in the speech. The Breathing techniques (呼吸) come with elaborate kanji names that even Japanese readers rely on the furigana for. And several characters have strong verbal quirks. Inosuke shouts, Zenitsu panics, and Nezuko barely speaks at all. A tip that works. If you have already watched the anime, start here. Knowing the story removes the comprehension pressure and lets you focus on the language, which is exactly the position you want to be in when reading your first long series in Japanese. The story Kamado Tanjirō (竈門炭治郎) comes home to find his family slaughtered by a demon. His younger sister Nezuko (禰豆子) survives, but has been turned into a demon herself. To find a cure and avenge his family, Tanjirō joins the Demon Slayer Corps (鬼殺隊). What follows is a story about persistence, grief, and unusual kindness toward one's enemies, which is a large part of why it became the phenomenon it did. Set details Volumes 1–23, the complete series (finished, 2020) Author Gotouge Koyoharu (吾峠呼世晴) Publisher Shueisha, Jump Comics (ジャンプコミックス) Language Japanese, with furigana throughout Format B6 paperback tankōbon, about 190 pages each Reading direction Right to left, as originally published Shipping Free to the USA (allow up to 8 business days). Canada $75. About 9 lb boxed Price per book About $6 across the 23-volume run Condition These are used reading copies, chosen for readability rather than for collectors. Every volume is complete and fully readable, with no writing or highlighting, no loose or missing pages, and nothing heavily damaged. Expect ordinary signs of a used book: page-edge tanning and some shelf wear. Most volumes come without the obi (the paper band that comes on new Japanese books), though a few happen to still have theirs. We would rather show you than tell you. One of the photos above is a close-up of the page edges, so you can see exactly what we mean by reading grade before you buy. That tanning is what a well-read Japanese paperback looks like after a few years on a shelf, and it has no effect at all on the printing inside. We have more than one of these sets in stock, so the photos show a representative set from this batch rather than the exact copies that will ship to you. Every set is the complete 1–23 run in the same condition standard described above. While supplies last, and when these are gone we may not be able to source more at this price.
