This is a novel in English, translated from the Japanese.
Mamoru Kusaka is a teenager still grieving. His father disappeared twelve years ago, his mother has just died, and he has moved to Tokyo to live with relatives. When his uncle, a taxi driver, is arrested after hitting a young woman with his cab, Mamoru sets out to clear his name. He finds evidence that the woman may have been running from someone connected to two other strange deaths, both officially ruled suicides.
