Questions
What do I get?
Five audiobooks, one folder each: 120 chapter MP3s plus an all-in-one MP3 per volume, a chaptered M4B audiobook file, 30 bonus tracks for shadowing and vocabulary review, the full eBook as a PDF, and a How to Listen guide. All five also play in the Makoto+ app.
How do I download it?
Right after checkout we email you a download link. Download everything at once on a computer, or open single books on your phone or tablet. You don't need Dropbox or any other account.
Can I listen on my phone?
Yes. Play the MP3s in any music app, or open the M4B files in Apple Books, BookPlayer or another audiobook app, which remembers your place. Or sign in to the Makoto+ app with the email you used at checkout, and the audiobooks are in your Library.
How is this different from the Stories eBooks?
The eBooks give you the books, with every story read at slow and natural speed. The audiobooks teach each story out loud: the vocabulary, every line with its English, questions and a retelling, so you can learn without looking at a page. This bundle covers Volumes 1 to 5; the eBooks for Volumes 1 to 10 are in Learn Japanese with Stories Bundle #1.
What level is it?
Upper beginner, about JLPT N5 to N4. Every line is explained, but these are real stories in real Japanese, so a true beginner may find them frustrating. Brand new to Japanese? Start with Beri-Beri Shoshinsha.
Who reads it?
Yumi Boutwell, a native speaker, reads the Japanese, and Clay Boutwell reads the English.
Are there more Stories audiobooks?
Yes. Volumes 6, 7 and 8 are out now as single audiobooks.
What if it isn't right for me?
Tell us within 60 days and we'll swap it for a better-fitting bundle or refund you in full.
