Every essay, three ways
「鳴かぬなら
「鳴かぬなら
“If the Lesser Cuckoo doesn’t sing, kill it.”
The first line of Volume 1, a poem about the warlord Oda Nobunaga. On its page every word gets a note, like the old negative ending in 鳴かぬ, which means 鳴かない. Then the essay runs again without furigana, then in English, with audio at slow and natural speed.
