This book is roughly divided into seven sections based on the Test Content Specifications for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (Revised Edition), which was created and edited by the Japan Foundation and the Association of International Education, Japan, and published by Bonjinsha. The usage of Japanese and the example questions have been drawn up by using previous tests as a reference and by anticipating the questions to be encountered in the future. Moreover, the vocabulary and expressions from the previously mentioned book have been used as much as possible.

This book is designed for use as a textbook in class, but it can also be used by people who study Japanese alone. The meanings, grammatical constructions, example sentences, and advice are given in such a way that the learner can judge his own ability by doing the practice questions. To use the textbook more easily, there are explanations in English and written kana alongside the Chinese Characters.
