The Japanese Language Proficiency Test recently made some structural changes. Because there was such a large gap between the old level 3 and 2, the new test inserts a new level roughly in between. To save confusion, the new test levels are prefixed with an "N." Please see the bottom of this page for a chart to compare the old and new test levels.
