The most popular textbook series I have encountered.

It takes basic Japanese in a slow, steady, easy to understand manner. Best suited for students that are interested in more classroom type Japanese instead of business Japanese.

Definitely recommend Genki 1 and 2 as a course to cover basic Japanese, and bring you up to an upper beginner, lower intermediate level.
